About Persian Palace of Babylon
The royal complex from which Darius the Mede administers the conquered city of Babylon in the Daniel narratives — vast colonnaded courtyards, glazed-brick walls in the Babylonian palette of cobalt and gold, and the audience hall where the king signs the edict that lions are to devour anyone who prays to a god other than himself (Daniel 6). It is also from this palace that Daniel rises before dawn to pray toward Jerusalem and is taken away to the lions' den.
