Who is The Captain?

A sturdy, broad-shouldered Phoenician captain with a short dark beard and worried lined face, wearing a sleeveless oiled-leather jerkin over a short linen kilt wrap, vermillion-and-ochre striped head-cloth, woven belt, simple leather sandals, and carrying a rope coil or long steering oar amid the ship’s rigging.
