Acts 2:1-41
Fifty days after the resurrection, Jesus'' followers are gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem. They have been praying together for over a week. Suddenly there is a sound like a violent rushing wind. Tongues of fire rest on each of them, and they begin to speak in languages they have never learned. Outside, pilgrims from all over the Roman world hear their own native languages being spoken — Parthian, Median, Egyptian, Roman, Arabic. Peter, who weeks earlier had denied even knowing Jesus, stands up and preaches the most important sermon of his life. Three thousand people are baptized that day. The Church is born. This comic captures the day the Holy Spirit arrived and the gospel began moving outward into every nation.

Acts 6:8-7:60
Stephen is one of the first deacons — chosen by the early church to serve widows so the apostles could focus on prayer and preaching. But he is also full of the Spirit, and wherever he speaks, miracles happen. Religious leaders argue with him and lose every argument. So they put him on trial with false witnesses. Stephen stands before the Sanhedrin and gives one of the longest speeches in the New Testament — a tour through Israel''s history that ends with a pointed challenge. They drag him outside the city to stone him. As he dies, he sees heaven open and Jesus standing to welcome him home. His last words, like Jesus'', are a prayer for his killers: "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." Watching from the crowd is a young Pharisee named Saul. This comic captures the first martyr of the church — and the seed of Paul''s eventual transformation.

Acts 9:1-31
Saul is the early church''s worst nightmare. He has watched Stephen die. He has dragged Christians from their homes and thrown them in prison. Now he is on the road to Damascus, carrying official letters to arrest any followers of the Way he finds there. Then a light brighter than the noon sun knocks him to the ground. A voice asks, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" Three days blind in Damascus. A reluctant disciple named Ananias prays for him. The scales fall, and the man who hunted Christians becomes the Apostle Paul — the one who will write most of the New Testament. This comic shows kids that no one is too far gone for grace.
