Fifty days after the resurrection, Jesus'' followers are gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem. They have been praying together for over a week. Suddenly there is a sound like a violent rushing wind. Tongues of fire rest on each of them, and they begin to speak in languages they have never learned. Outside, pilgrims from all over the Roman world hear their own native languages being spoken — Parthian, Median, Egyptian, Roman, Arabic. Peter, who weeks earlier had denied even knowing Jesus, stands up and preaches the most important sermon of his life. Three thousand people are baptized that day. The Church is born. This comic captures the day the Holy Spirit arrived and the gospel began moving outward into every nation.
