Terms of Service

Welcome to Bible Heroes (“BibleHeroes”, “we”, “us”), a brand operated by Cocowah (Toronto, Canada). These Terms govern your access to and use of our website, stories, and related digital downloads (the “Service”). By using the Service or purchasing a story you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the new version.

2. Eligibility & Parental Consent

Our stories are made for children but are sold to adults. You must be 18 or older to make a purchase. If a child uses the Service, a parent or legal guardian must supervise that use and accept these Terms on the child’s behalf.

3. Accounts & Orders

You agree to provide accurate information when placing an order, and to keep any login credentials secure. We may refuse or cancel orders that appear fraudulent or that violate these Terms.

4. Digital License Grant

Each purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to download, store, read and print the purchased stories for non-commercial use. The scope depends on what you bought, as set out below. A plain-language summary is on our License page.

4.1 Family license

Single storybooks, collections and the Complete Library are licensed for use within a single household, or by one teacher with the children in their own class. You may read the stories on your own devices, print a reasonable number of copies for that household or class, and make a backup copy.

4.2 Group license

Church and school plans (including the Christmas Program Pack and the Parish License) are licensed to a single parish, congregation or school (the “Licensee”) for use by its staff, catechists, teachers and volunteers with the children and families in its programs. During the license term the Licensee may:

• Print unlimited copies for its classes, programs and events.
• Distribute printed copies to children and families in its programs.
• Project or display the stories during classes, worship and parish or school events.
• Share the files among its own leaders and teachers through non-public internal channels.

The term of a Christmas Program Pack ends on January 6, 2027. The term of a Parish License is twelve months from purchase unless renewed. When a term ends, printed copies already distributed may be kept, but new printing, projection and sharing must stop. Use across multiple parishes, schools or sites requires a separate multi-site agreement.

4.3 Restrictions (all licenses)

You may not:

• Resell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute the files or their contents, or charge for printed copies beyond the cost of printing.
• Share the files outside the household, class or Licensee covered by your license, or upload them to any public, shared, or file-sharing service.
• Livestream or record readings for public broadcast without our written permission.
• Remove or alter copyright notices, watermarks, or attribution.
• Use the story or its illustrations to train machine-learning models.
• Create derivative works for commercial purposes without our written permission.

The license terminates automatically if you breach these terms. For uses not covered here, contact us at contact@bibleheroes.kids.

5. Intellectual Property

All stories, illustrations, characters, text, audio and trade dress are the property of Bible Heroes or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. All rights not expressly granted in Section 4 are reserved.

6. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full payment card details. By submitting a payment you authorize Stripe to charge the amount shown at checkout, which already reflects any tier discount displayed in your cart.

7. Hosted Content

Editorial content (story descriptions, character pages, marketing copy) is managed through a content management system. We aim to keep this content accurate but make no warranty that it is free from error.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to interfere with the Service, attempt to access areas you are not authorised to use, or use the Service in any unlawful manner.

9. Disclaimers

The Service and the stories are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bible Heroes will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to a story will not exceed the amount you paid for that story in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page and revising the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated where reasonable.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence.
