Joshua and the Walls of Jericho

About this story

Jericho is the first city in the Promised Land — and its walls are huge. God gives Joshua the strangest battle plan in history: don''t fight, don''t shout, don''t even talk. March around the city once a day for six days, with the priests carrying the Ark in front. On the seventh day, march around seven times. Then blow the trumpets and shout. Inside the city, a woman named Rahab has already hidden two Israelite scouts in exchange for the safety of her family. When the walls finally fall, the Israelites pour in — and Rahab and everyone in her house are saved. The story is about a victory that does not look like a victory, and a foreigner whose faith puts her into the family tree of Jesus himself.
