About this story

Jesus and his disciples climb the road toward Jerusalem for Passover. On the Mount of Olives, Jesus tells two of them to find a young donkey tied in the next village and bring it to him. They throw their cloaks over the donkey''s back. Jesus rides into the city while the crowd waves palm branches and shouts, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" But this is not a soldier''s entry. The donkey is a king''s peace animal, not a war horse. By Thursday, Jesus will sit with his closest friends in an upper room, take the bread and the cup, and tell them what is about to happen. This comic captures the opening of Holy Week — when the crowds cheered, the Passover was coming, and a different kind of king arrived.
