Gideon's 300Coming soon

About this story

The Midianites have been raiding Israel''s harvests for seven years. Gideon is hiding wheat in a winepress when an angel calls him a "mighty warrior." It takes a fleece test, then a reverse fleece test, before Gideon believes God really means him. Then God starts the strangest army-reduction in history. Thirty-two thousand men show up to fight. God sends twenty-two thousand home because they''re scared, then tests the rest by how they drink water, and ends up with three hundred. Three hundred against an army "like locusts." Armed with trumpets, clay jars, and torches, Gideon''s 300 win one of the great upsets of the Bible — a story about how God''s power shines brightest when ours is smallest.
